Position Title:  21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) Site Coordinator 
Wage:  $17-$19/hour DOE; Multiple opportunities exist at multiple sites:  3 Fulltime (September – May); 5 Part time (September – May) 
Reports to:  21st Century Community Learning Center Project Director 

Position Description

This individual will be employed by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Santiam to oversee the 21st CCLC program at the assigned site. The primary purpose of this position is to plan and coordinate a comprehensive out of school time program for students in compliance with the provisions of the 21st CCLC program grant. Each Site Coordinator will coordinate program activities, monitor students, and oversee staff and volunteers at their assigned site. 

Duties and Responsibilities

 Coordinates 21st CCLC program for students at assigned site through collaboration with staff, students, parents/guardians, and identified community partners. 

 Establishes and maintains a positive and respectful learning environment and working relationship with students, staff, administration, parents/guardians, and community members.

 Meets regularly with the principal, school day staff, and program partners.

Works closely with and provides ongoing supervision to program staff.

Facilitates regularly scheduled staff meetings and program debriefing times.

Provides sufficient planning and prep time to program staff.

Provides guidance and is responsible for program volunteers and ensuring compliance with district processes.  

Schedules educational activities, programs, and events to support student academic success and enrichment as well as family engagement and support.

Demonstrates understanding of and support for district core values, district mission, district strategic plan, and school improvement plans.

Ensures that the program adheres to any organizational or 21st CCLC grant requirements.

Monitors students’ arrival and departure, assists with meals/snacks, academic support, and enrichment activities as needed.

Collects and monitors attendance records for students and staff.

Ensures timely and accurate data entry and monitors data collection system in cooperation with the Project Director and district.

Monitors classes, program activities, and program operations to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.

Assists with managing funding from district and partner agencies in accordance with funding requirements.

Works with the program and school day staff to provide consistent, proactive student behavior support; manages student behavior issues, takes appropriate action, and contacts families and Project Director as needed.

Prepares budgets, reports, and program evaluation activities to support 21st CCLC programming.

Demonstrates an awareness of and sensitivity to multicultural and multilingual values and environments.

 Maintains the integrity of confidential information relating to a student, family, colleague, or district patron, and uses or relays academic, social, or personal information only in the course of performing assigned responsibilities and in the best interest of the individuals involved.

 Responds to questions and other information requests from families, students, staff, school personnel, and community members.

 Follows all safety rules and takes all reasonable precautions to provide a safe and secure environment for students and employees.

Complies with professional development activities as required by the district and 21st CCLC grant expectations. 


Qualifications, Competencies, and Skills  

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s or associate’s degree or equivalent in education, youth development, or related field of study preferred.

 Interpersonal Skills: Works well with others. Focuses on solving conflict. Maintains confidentiality. Listens to others. Remains open to others’ ideas. Contributes to building a positive team spirit.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret program communication and write effective staff and family communication and program reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups and individuals.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing software, internet software, database software, educational programs, and/or a willingness to learn.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license. Ability to provide reliable and safe transportation for job-related travel. Other certificates/licenses as determined by the district. 

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Skills  

Has prior experience in an educational or recreational setting in a school- or community-based organization.

Has knowledge of or connection to the local community.

Has a recommendation from program partners. 
 
Working Conditions

Working conditions will vary depending on location – the position will be based out of the BGCGS 5th Street Admin Office, but will require work in all learning centers, district offices, schools, and more.  Requires use of personal vehicle.  Requires some standing and light lifting. 
Salary This is a full-time salaried position. Salary is commensurate with experience, and a benefits package is included. Please inquire for details. 
 
Hours

Hours vary depending on site and will require some evening and weekends.

STATUS: Part-time, hours and days may vary to meet program needs. Generally, Monday - Friday 2:30-6:30 PM (12:30-6:30 on Wednesday)

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Plan, implement, facilitate, and supervise activities and events in a specific program area.  Model and execute a variety of innovative and exciting new programs in a specific core area that meet the diverse interests and needs of members, their parents and the community.  Interface with volunteers assigned to specific programs to ensure proper application.  Promote safety of members, quality of programs and appearance of the Club at all times. 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Must report to work prepared and on time

·         Must demonstrate excellent hygiene and cleanliness practices

·         Must collaborate and communicate effectively with coworkers as needed

·         Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check

·         Represent the Boys & Girls Club and it’s mission while out in the community

·         Assist with training of new staff

·         Assume other duties as assigned

 

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

·         Previous experience working with children and/or knowledge of youth development

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills

·         Able to work well with others and independently

·         CPR and First Aid Certifications (Must be acquired within first 30 days of work)

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·         Active environment that requires employee to be on their feet for several hours at a time

·         Some lifting and moving of moderately sized objects

TITLE: Nutrition Program Assistant

DEPARTMENT: Nutrition

REPORTS TO: Nutrition Program Coordinator

STATUS: Part-Time, hours and days may vary to meet program needs. Generally, Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. 

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Under the supervision of the Nutrition Program Coordinator, the Nutrition Program Assistant is responsible for the supervision of the Nutrition Program, preparing and serving food to Club Members and keeping general area clean and organized on a daily basis. Nutrition Program Assistant is responsible for assisting with catering events as necessary. Responsibilities include: assisting with menu development, food preparation/presentation and clean up.

 

KEY ROLES:

Food Prep and Serving

·         Ensure food prep areas are properly sanitized and organized

·         Ensure all cooking tools and utensils are properly stored and sanitized

·         Follow all safety procedures when using kitchen equipment

·         Ensure all food and ingredients are stored properly

·         Ensure eating areas are properly cleaned, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, wiping down counters, etc.

·         Ensure all waste is properly disposed of

·         Work closely with Nutrition Program Coordinator to ensure all guidelines set forth by the USDA are being followed.

·         Receive, organize and track food inventory on a regular basis

·         Supervise Club Members during meal times

·         Act as a positive role model for Club Members

·         Perform daily tasks in a positive and courteous manner

·         Keep daily records of how many meals are served

Catering

·         Assist Coordinator in planning menus

·         Gather necessary materials and ingredients for catering events

·         Assist with meal preparation and presentation

·         Serve meals and beverages to attendees as needed

·         Demonstrate excellent communication skills

·         Clean, organize and restock equipment and food returning from catering event

·         Able to adhere to strict schedule and ensure catering events are set up complete and on time

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Must collaborate and communicate effectively with coworkers and vendors as needed

·         Must have valid Oregon Driver’s License

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

·         A minimum of two years’ work experience in a Boys or Girls Club food program or similar organization setting

·         Previous experience working with children

·         Strong communication skills

·         Able to work well with others and independently

·         May be required to perform duties with minimal supervision and must operate out of previously established procedures and guidelines

·         CPR and First Aid Certifications (Must be acquired within first 30 days of work)

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

·         Active environment that requires employee to be on their feet for majority of time

·         May have to withstand warm temperatures, such as working near stove, oven or dishwasher

·         Some lifting and moving of moderately sized objects
